TriHealth Clinton Regional Hospital (CMH) is located at 610 W Main St, Wilmington, OH 45177 and it is a 165-bed hospital located in the heart of Wilmington, Ohio—a charming community that offers the tranquility and friendliness of country living. This is a PRN position. Weekend and holiday coverage is not required; however, candidates are encouraged to pick up open shifts as available.
This is a PRN (as‑needed) position and does not qualify for TriHealth benefits.
Bachelor's degree in pharmacy (Required)
~1 - 2 years of Pharmacy experience is required. Inpatient pharmacy experience is preferred.
~ Valid Pharmacist license in the State of Ohio ( Ohio Board of Pharmacy )
~ Prescription formula and mathematics for calculating dosage and quantity
~ Working knowledge of all Ohio Board of Pharmacy regulations
~ A TriHealth Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing optimal pharmaceutical care to all patients we serve through distributive and clinical functions. The Clinical Pharmacist collaborates with other health care providers to ensure appropriateness of all elements of pharmaceutical care and independently operates within policies and procedures to manage the department's clinical and consultative services. The Clinical Pharmacist supervises the work of supportive team members to ensure accuracy and efficiency of distributive services. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to serving as a drug information resource for TriHealth providers, direct patient interaction, precepting of pharmacy residents and/or student pharmacists, and contribution to department projects or initiatives in collaboration with Pharmacy Leadership
Reports medication errors and assists in assessing the risks and strategies to manage the risk. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures. Assists in protocol development, implementation, and optimization. Undertakes projects that will improve the quality of patient care and promote cost effective use of medications.
Takes the lead in identifying opportunities and solutions in pharmacy process improvements. Assumes personal responsibility for professional development, particularly in the area of ongoing clinical education, and develops clinical pharmacy programs according to policies and regulations. Assists in orientation and training of new hires, and precepts pharmacy students and residents.
Contributes to direct patient care through careful review of patient information, assessment and provision of appropriate pharmaceutical recommendations. Promotes the correct and appropriate use of medications by maximizing the clinical effect, using the most effective treatment, minimizing the risk of treatment-induced adverse events, and minimizing the expenditures for pharmacological treatments. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm, professional environment. Establishes effective collaborative working relationships and open and active communication with pharmacy leadership, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and technicians. Provides drug distribution skills include verification, order entry, clarification as needed, accuracy of checking, technician supervision, and timely delivery. Manages the drug inventory by adjusting par levels and avoids stock-outs and decreasing waste. Communicates with the Pharmacy Buyers to ensure supply matches' demand. Visual Acuity: Far -
